Context
For Block’s 2025 Black Friday / Cyber Monday campaign, the team set out to create a live web experience tracking record-breaking performance across Square, Cash App, and Afterpay. The challenge was designing a system that could accommodate rapidly changing real-time data while maintaining clarity, flexibility, and visual cohesion throughout the weekend.
Solution
In close collaboration with the data team and design technologist Pete Schirmer, we developed a flexible web design system capable of scaling dynamically as transaction numbers continued to rise in real time, ultimately tracking more than 124M transactions and 49.8M consumers.
To support rapid iteration and stakeholder alignment, I used AI prototyping tools like Cursor and Figma Make to create interactive prototypes that could be reviewed and tested directly throughout the process, helping accelerate feedback and approvals.
My Role
I led art direction and UI design for the experience, developing the visual system, layout approach, and interactive prototypes in collaboration with engineering and data partners.

Before landing on the final direction, we explored a wide range of approaches to displaying the data, from purely typographic layouts to image-heavy compositions.
